One of the highways in southwestern Saskatchewan devastated by spring flooding was re-opened over the weekend.

Highway 42 between Lucky Lake and Greenbrier was temporarily repaired last week allowing for traffic beginning on Saturday.

The road and slope have been built back up with dirt and gravel with the speed limit remaining at 60 km/hr due to loose stones.

A more permanent fix including paving and grass will be applied to the area before the construction season comes to a close.

The Ministry of Highways didn't have a price tag on the fix yet.

Highway 42 had been closed since April 12 when the road collapsed from a washout.
