The Shaunavon Senior Badgers recently hosted their fourth annual  Slo Pitch Tournament in Shaunavon raising money for upkeep at the local ball diamonds.

Dyson Stevenson from the organizing committee said they had about 16 teams out this year which was a great turn out

"We played under the lights on Friday night. We started at six o'clock till two in the morning. And then this year we actually got a local Shaunavon band called The Marshalls to play outside in our Beer Gardens. We do a Calcutta for our Home Run Derby, and then we also do Jersey Auctions."

There was also a cabaret on the Saturday night.

Stevenson says the majority of this year's earnings will go towards building a permanent pole shed, with the Slammers Baseball Team, which will be a great asset to the diamonds with the potential for it  to be used for Minor Sports Days, Tournaments and possibly even hosting Provincials.

The Slo Pitch Tournament this year raised close to $10,000.
