The CP Holiday Train is back in person once again

After three years of virtual attendance, people will be able to once again come out and listen to some Canadian musicians play some Christmas classics.

This year, Swift Current residents will be able to enjoy music from Tenille Townes and Aysanabee.

This will be Townes first year performing on the Holiday Train. She had first heard about it at the Canadian Country Music Awards a couple years ago when they were being given the humanitarian award.

“I am so excited to get to play in all of these wonderful places that the train goes to and we will just be there with a little holiday music to hopefully lift up everybody's spirits and get us in the Christmas mood,” said Townes.

Townes will be playing in Swift Current on December 6 at 8 p.m. along with other cities in Canada.

In addition, Townes will be performing different Christmas songs that not just she, but other people love as well.

“Well, I'm a sucker for the sad ones you know, like I love the Christmas song Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire, I love White Christmas, thinking about the snowy beautiful atmosphere. I think we're going to mix a few on our set that are a little more rocking. I really love Brenda Lee's Rocking Around the Christmas Tree that one will really get you going."

Once again, this year, when the train arrives in town, they will also be collecting non-perishable food donations in support of the local Salvation Army food bank.
