Matthew Savoie and Ben Zloty had three points each as the Winnipeg ICE beat the Saskatoon Blades 5-1 to take a 3-0 stranglehold in the WHL Eastern Conference Final. 

Connor McLennon, Owen Pederson and Zach Benson had a goal and an assist each for Winnipeg. Justin Lies had the lone goal for the Blades, who host a must-win game four tonight.

Out west, Olen Zellweger had a goal and two helpers as the Kamloops Blazers beat Seattle 4-1 to hand the Thunderbirds their first loss of the playoffs. The Blazers host game four on Thursday trailing the series 2-1.

Bobrovsky, Panthers spoil party for Leafs

Sergei Bobrovsky made 34 saves and the Florida Panthers hung on for a 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in game one of the NHL’s Eastern Conference semi-final. 

Matthew Tkachuk had three assists for the Panthers as they won their fourth game in a row. Matthew Knies and Michael Bunting scored for the Leafs, who were playing in their first second-round playoff game since 2004.

Meanwhile, Yanni Gourde scored the OT winner as Seattle beat Dallas 5-4 in the opening game of their series. Joe Pavelski had all four goals for the Stars in a losing cause.

Tonight's NHL playoff action has the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Edmonton Oilers in the opening game of their Western Conference semi-final, while Carolina welcomes New Jersey for game one of their series.

Wong hits clutch homer for Red Sox in win over Jays

Connor Wong hit two home runs, including a tie-breaking blast over the Green Monster, as the Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6 to hand the Jays their third-straight loss. 

Daulton Varsho had a three-run homer for the Jays as part of a six-run fifth inning. Alek Manoah will start for Toronto as the four-game set continues tonight at Fenway.

Lakers, Knicks win NBA playoff games

Anthony Davis had 30 points and Lebron James added 22 as the LA Lakers held on to beat Golden State 117-112 in the opening game of their NBA playoff series. Also, Jalen Brunson scored 30 points for the New York Knicks, who evened up their series with a 111-105 win over Miami.

Boston hosts Philadelphia in the lone NBA playoff game tonight with the Sixers up 1-0 in the series.

REDBLACKS take Bull first in CFL draft, Korte-Moore headlines Riders' draft class

The Ottawa Redblacks selected Fresno State offensive tackle Dontae Bull with the first overall pick of Tuesday night’s CFL Draft. 

The Saskatchewan Roughriders used their first selection to pick defensive lineman Lake Korte-Moore from the UBC Thunderbirds third overall. The Riders also selected DB Jaxon Ford (Regina), LB Matt Dean (York), RB Thomas Bertrand-Hudon (Delaware State), OL Sidy Sow (Eastern Michigan), OL Evan Floren (Queen's), LB Nick Thomas (Manitoba) and DL Tavius Robinson (Mississippi).
