The Winnipeg ICE are WHL Eastern Conference Champions.

Connor McLennon scored twice and Briley Wood got the game-winner in the third period as the ICE beat the Saskatoon Blades 3-2 to complete a four-game sweep and move on to the league championship final for the fourth time in franchise history, and the first time since the team relocated from Cranbrook to Winnipeg in 2019.

The ICE will take on either the Seattle Thunderbirds or Memorial Cup host Kamloops Blazers for the Ed Chynoweth Cup. Game four of the Western Conference Final is tonight with Seattle leading the series 2-1.

Oilers drop game one to Vegas despite four goals from Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl scored four goals for the Edmonton Oilers, but it wasn't enough as the Vegas Golden Knights took the opening game of the NHL Western Conference semi-final 6-4.

Ivan Barbashev had two goals for the Golden Knights and Michael Amadio, Mark Stone, Chandler Stephenson and Jack Eichel also scored. Stuart Skinner made 28 saves for the Oilers on the same night he was named a finalist for the Calder Trophy as the league's Rookie of the Year.

Elsewhere, Jesper Fast had a goal and an assist and Jordan Martinook added two helpers as Carolina routed New Jersey 5-1 in game one of their series.

Tonight, Toronto hosts Florida with the Maple Leafs trailing their series 1-0, and Dallas hosts Seattle with the Kraken up 1-0 on the Stars.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers announced this morning that former forward Petr Klima passed away at the age of 58. Klima scored one of the Oilers' most iconic playoff goals, coming off the bench to score in triple overtime in game one of the 1990 Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins. The Oilers went on to win the series in five games for what is their most recent Stanley Cup championship.

Vladdy hits monster homer for Jays in losing cause

The Toronto Blue Jays suffered their fourth straight loss as they fell 8-3 to the Red Sox Wednesday night in Boston.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was a bright spot for the Jays, hitting a towering 450-ft home run against a stiff wind that left Fenway Park over the Green Monster.

The Jays send Kevin Gausman to the mound as they look to wrap up the series with a win today.

Celtics spoil Embiid's return to tie series

Jaylen Brown scored 25 points as the Boston Celtics rolled past Philadelphia 121-87 to tie their NBA playoff series with the 76ers at a game apiece. Joel Embiid, who was named the league's MVP on Tuesday, scored 15 points as he returned to the Sixers lineup after missing the last two games with a sprained knee.

Tonight, the Golden State Warriors will look to even up their series with LA when they host the Lakers in San Francisco.
