Prepare your pets to take the plunge this Monday for the Fairview Pool’s final send-off to summer.

The annual Pooch Plunge will take place at 6:30 p.m. and serve as a fundraiser for the Swift Current SPCA.

Meghan Chisholm, Aquatic Manager for the city of Swift Current, elaborated on some of the regulations for the fun-filled event.

“We are asking for one person per dog, just so that everybody is safe while our fur friends are swimming,” she said.

Residents will be able to bring their furry friends to the outdoor pool until 7:30 p.m.

Dogs will be allowed in the main pool only and proof on vaccination will be required upon entry.

Handlers will be responsible for cleaning up after any of their dog’s waste and are welcome to bring toys.

Chisholm added that they are asking for cash only for the five-dollar entry fee, with all proceeds going towards the SPCA.

Humans will not be allowed in the pool during the Pooch Plunge.
