The creation of Canada wouldn't have been possible without the signing of treaties with First Nations people.

To promote this understanding, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association and the Office of the Treaties Commissioner have signed an agreement, commited to increasing treaty literacy in our schools.

Here in Swift Current, the Comp High School has made strides in promoting an understanding of treaties through a module dedicated to this topic, having been added to history classes as early as grade 9.

The Office of Treaty Commissioner can be found on the web at www.otc.ca.
