April 4, 1959 - February 24, 2023

Kerry was born on April 4, 1959 at Swift Current Union Hospital to Jake and Esther Wiebe.  Kerry took his first steps the week his sister was born.  He was a big brother at 10 months old.  Kerry took being a big brother seriously, taking a spanking for his little sister because he didn't want to see her cry.  And to make her happy he would give up his dime allowance so she could have another ride on the store horse.  Kerry excelled at school from an early age going from grade 1 to 3 skipping grade 2.  Graduating high school and university with honors.  As a teenager Kerry worked at Swift Current Bottlers.  After graduating university he enjoyed his career as a chartered accountant in Regina, then moving to Winnipeg, to Hay River, back to Winnipeg.  Kerry had two nieces which he loved to spoil with new outfits, and NOISEY toys.  Kerry volunteered for anything he could: United Way, sport events, chaperone and music man for figure skating, visits to nursing homes, bingo caller, fund raisers, whatever kind of job he would be there and go beyond what was needed.  Kerry loved reading and learning all kinds of information about history, how things were made, how they worked, trivia, anything.  Then he would like to share this information (whether you wanted to hear it or not).  Kerry's great niece at the age of 7 said "does Uncle Kerry know something about everything?"  In 2006 Kerry moved back to Swift Current and lived with him mom until her passing in 2021.  Back living in Swift Current, he organized little day trips with his great nieces and nephews, to Leader Museum, Sandhills, Fort Walsh (where he interrupted the tour guide to share his knowledge of the regions).  At Rough Rider games it was a must to have COWBELLS to cheer and face painted in Rider colors.  Kerry is survived by his sister Cheryl (Alan) Fontaine; nieces: Chantelle (Bart) Draper, Candace (Dan) Hornung; great nieces and nephews: Hailey Hornung, Jacob Draper, Aidan Draper, and Brooklynn Hornung.  He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Esther (Braun) Wiebe, and baby sister Darcie Lee.  Donations in Kerry's memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Saskatchewan, 1011 University Dr, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7N 0K4; or to Diabetes Canada - Saskatchewan Branch, Regional Leadership Centre South, 917A Albert St, Regina, Saskatchewan S4R 2P6.  Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home , for further information please call 1-306-773-8831 or 1-800-267-6606, or visit our website at www.warrensfuneralhome.com and express your sympathy to family members on the tribute wall.
