The Swift Current 57's were one strike away from picking up a big win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express, but a two-out rally lifted the Millers to an 11-6 win at Mitchell Field on Tuesday.

The 57's led 6-0 after four innings with Logan Grant and Matthew Ward hitting RBIs in the first inning, Owen Stevenson picking up an RBI single in the third, and Justin Barnes and Logan Stockton driving in runs with hits in the fourth. Thomas Collins went 4-for-5 and scored two runs.

Moose Jaw then scored 11 unanswered runs with five coming home in the fifth inning. In the ninth inning with two away and Trent Greek on the mound looking for the save, Bryan Reyes singled, and Austin Gurney walked on a full count. Luke Shekeryk then came off the bench to hit a go-ahead two-run double to put the Millers up 7-6 and Moose Jaw added four more runs on top of that to wrap up the scoring.

Starter Patrick Tangen struck out four batters over eight innings while Greek took the loss. Ethan Merk picked up the win for Moose Jaw in relief.

The 57's (27-25) are now 3.5 games back of the Miller Express, who are still in a tie with Regina for first place in the East Division after the Red Sox beat Weyburn 9-1 in other WCBL action on Wednesday.

Swift Current and Moose Jaw meet for the final time in the regular season tonight in the Friendly City.
