The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires beat the Estevan Bears in overtime for the second straight day, winning 5-4 in a wild afternoon at InnovationPlex on Sunday.

A seven-goal first period started early with Josh Heistad scoring for Estevan 1:38 into the game, then Jace Egland and Landyn Nash added two quick goals to put Swift Current up 2-1. Kole Keen, Jase Konecsni and Marc Belanger scored three unanswered goals to give the Bears a two-goal lead, but Hudson Darby scored with 53 seconds left in the opening frame to cut the Legionnaires' deficit to one goal after 20 minutes. Nash scored his second of the game with 4:23 left in the second period to tie the game at 4-4, and the tie would hold up through regulation. Parker Rondeau scored 37 seconds into overtime to give the Legionnaires their sixth straight win and their 12th victory in their last 13 games.

Jacob Morris got the win in goal, making 17 saves before being pulled in the first period for Berney Weston, who stopped all eight shots he faced.

The Legionnaires (12-3-0-1) are now in a three-way tie with the Regina Pat Canadians and Saskatoon Blazers for first place in the SMAAAHL standings but will have nine days off before their next game on November 22 when they host the Moose Jaw WINMAR Warriors at InnovationPlex.
