The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires kept their winning streak alive in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 win over the Notre Dame Hounds in their home opener at InnovationPlex on Friday.

Joby Baumuller opened the scoring for the Hounds in the first period before Eric Hoiness potted the equalizer 24 seconds into the second period. Notre Dame answered with a power play goal from Wyatt Davis and another marker by DJ Freigang to take a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

Hudson Darby cut the lead to 3-2 with 3:43 left in the third, and after Brogan Young went off for tripping, Parker Rondeau scored on the ensuing man advantage to tie the game up at 3-3 with 1:51 remaining. Then with 20 seconds left in regulation, Darby scored his second goal and the game winner to put the Legionnaires on top 4-3.

Berney Weston made 17 saves for the win as Swift Current outshot the Hounds 41-20.

The Legionnaires (6-2-1) have now won six games in a row and will play their next game at home against the Moose Jaw WINMAR Warriors on Tuesday night at 8:00pm from InnovationPlex.
