A Swift Current man is gearing up to rappel from a 21-story building in Regina later this summer but first, he has some fundraising work to do.

To participate in this year's Drop Zone Challenge - Devon Oman will be tasked with raising at least $1,500 that will go towards Easter Seals.

The local movie producer is hoping an upcoming Beer and Burger night at Buffalo Brew Pub on July 11 will help him hit the financial target.

"It includes a burger, pint of beer, fries, and salad - it's $30 per ticket," he said. "I want to give a big shout out to everybody at the Brew Pub for supporting Camp Easter Seals over the years."

Oman has conquered his fear of heights with the Drop Zone Challenge twice, most recently in 2019.

"I'm still scared and nervous going up on that high building looking down at people but once you get off the building, the adrenaline is pumping," he explained.

This year's Drop Zone Challenge in the Queen City is set for August 27 - giving Oman time to dust off his superhero cape.

"I haven't picked the superhero yet, I might lean towards Spider-Man," he said. "I've done Wolverine and Deadpool the last two times I've done it."
