The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede rides again this week for the first time since 2019, with a full slate of events including the pro rodeo, midway and three stellar night shows, including the return of Medicine Hat's own MacKenzie Porter.

Porter is a 15-time CCMA Award nominee and was also nominated for two JUNO Awards. Her latest single, "Pickup", recently hit #1 on the Canadian Country charts, making her the first Canadian female artist to have five #1 hits in this century. 2019's "These Days" was also a big crossover hit reaching the top 10 on the Canadian Adult Contemporary and Hot AC charts while also hitting #1 on the Country chart.

She will perform at the Grandstand at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede grounds (2155-21 Ave SE) on Thursday night at 9:00pm. The other night shows include international country star Trace Adkins on Wednesday night and legendary rock 'n' roll group The Beach Boys on Saturday. Tickets to the night shows and pro rodeo performances are available online.

Colin Powers will be in Medicine Hat this week checking out the Stampede and other fun things to do in Canada's sunniest city and will be sharing updates on social media. You can join in the fun by using the hashtag #MyMHSummer and enter for a chance to win a vacation getaway package worth over $700 from Tourism Medicine Hat!

Colin talked with MacKenzie Porter on Tuesday about her hometown show, her career milestones and her busy summer:
