In the October 5 COVID-19 update, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of nine new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those nine new cases, one is in the Saskatoon zone, five are in the Central East zone, one is in the Regina zone, one in the South Central zone, and one in the South East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,968, of which 143 are considered active.

There are currently three active cases of the virus in the South West zone.

There have been nineteen more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,801.

One person is in hospital in intensive care in Regina.

There have been twenty four deaths related to COVID-19 in the province to date.

To date, there have been 202,136 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were a total of 2,612 COVID-19 tests done.
