Southwest residents have a chance to recognize local businesses for how they’re impacting the community.

The Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce is officially accepting nominations for its 2024 Business Excellence (SCBEX) Awards

CEO Karla Wiens said anyone can be nominated, and anyone can nominate.

“Anyone in southwest Saskatchewan should nominate someone in and around our community that they feel has provided exemplary service, in whatever fashion that happens to look,” she said.

Nominations are received anonymously, and all the praise submitted will be compiled and given to the respectable nominees. The deadline to put a name or business forward is August 31.

The award categories are Not-for-Profit, Start-Up/New Business, Small Business, Medium Business, Large Business, Employer of person(s) experiencing disabilities, Emerging Entrepreneur, Employer of the year and Community Impact.

“Start thinking and get them in over the summer months,” Wiens advised. “The big reveal is going to be held on October 3 this year and that is a private event for all nominees and our sponsors. It's a chance for everyone to come together and the top three finalists in each category will be revealed at that event.”
