Getting lab work done at the Cypress Regional Hospital just got a whole lot easier—and faster.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) announced yesterday that their expanded online booking system is officially up and running for Swift Current and area.

In a media release issued last month, Lenore Howey, Executive Director of Laboratory Medicine Clinical Services with the SHA, said the addition is a huge step to enhance efficiency and safety.

“This is an exciting development for all patients, families and staff in Saskatchewan,” she wrote. “Booking online only takes a few minutes, making things simple and fast for those who are scheduling their appointments. Users who aren’t comfortable with, or don’t have access to technology can book by phone.”

The site is available 24 hours for scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine or Flu shot, a COVID-19 test, and Lab/ECG appointments, including blood/urine collections, ECGs, a combination of the two, and Glucose Tolerance Tests.

To book appointments online, folks need a provincial health card and either a cell phone number or a valid email address. Existing appointments can also be viewed in the system under the ‘My Appointments’ tab.
