PBR Coming Back to Swift Current

The meanest bulls and toughest riders are coming back to Swift Current.

SCB Event Management is again bringing the Redhead Equipment Case IH Cody Snyder PBR Invitational Bull Riding event to the Credit Union iPlex on May 26th.



Former World Champion and producer reflected on their successful debut last spring.

"After last year the response from the whole community here in Swift Current and all of southern Saskatchewan was just overwhelming," said Cody Snyder. "It was a complete sell out. The 'in the dirt' after party was a huge success. It was a great fundraiser for the Broncos. We're just looking forward to coming back this year."

"Our name brings a lot of punch, we've done a lot of great events. People know that when they get to see this even they're going to see the best of the best."

That includes top riders from across the country like 2008 World Champion Bull Rider Kody Lostroh, reining PBR Canadian National Champion Tyler Thomson, and Ty Pozzobon from Merritt whom Snyder describes as the Sidney Crosby of PBR.

"They're excited to come back again as good as it was last year," Snyder said. "It always pumps you up when you're riding in front of a sold out house. Not only does it pump up the riders, but it pumps up the bulls as well."

The PBR will be bolstered by a production crew that works the Calgary Stampede and the first use of the new Credit Union iPlex scoreboard for live video or replays.

If they can repeat last year's success Snyder is talking about turning it into a two day event next spring.

"I think that the city of Swift Current can handle it," Snyder said. "This could be a whole western event weekend. It's about the economic impact an event like this has. You get people coming in from all over the country to watch an event like this."

Tickets go on sale April 9th to Broncos season ticket holders and April 16th to the general public.
