Plewis Automotive Group has recently won the Community Impact Award, intended to reflect on the company’s philanthropy over the past year.

The Community Impact Award is a new award that effectively replaces the previous Citizen of the Year Award. The changeover allows for both individuals and organizations to have a chance at winning.

Owner and Partner with Plewis Automotive Group, Mark Plewis, represented the company in accepting the award and spoke on why they made these community commitments.

“It's in our blood, it's in our heritage,” expressed Plewis. “Great Grandpa, Grandpa, and my father have all laid roots and the foundation of giving and philanthropy in our community, and it's been one of those things that's been instilled in us.”

Plewis is a Swift Current legacy business, with 113 years of heritage, having laid its roots in 1910. Mark Plewis explains that the company’s Better Together slogan refers to the reciprocal support between the company and the community which it serves.

“We try to do as much as we can at varying levels,” explained Plewis. “Of course, not all are going to be Plewis Automotive Group Inclusive Park. Some might be a curling bonspiel on the weekend. Some might be kids' hockey tournaments, or some might be Salvation Army donations or back-to-school programs. I think being able to give back to some degree is necessary... We just think that by giving us such a positive thing, that keeps this community going and makes it one of those places where life makes sense.”
