Swift Current’s Gelico Gymnastics made the journey to Humboldt over the weekend to take part in the Calico Competition. 

Numerous gymnasts brought their best skills to the competition, putting up high scores across the board. 

One Swift Current gymnast, Ashlynn Meyer, represented the Xcel Platinum level. Of the four athletes in the level, Meyer placed third all around with a score of 34.00. 

Meyer took home gold on the beam with an 8.80 and silver on uneven bars with an 8.75. Her floor routine saw her tied for third place with a 9.10 while her vault scored an 8.25 and placed fourth. 

Breanna Dyck and Kayden Meyer competed in the 12 and up Xcel Gold level. Of the 18 athletes in the level, Kayden placed seventh with a 35.80 and Dyck received a 34.30 in all around. 

Kayden Meyer placed third on the uneven bars apparatus with a 9.275. 

Dyck received a 9.00 for her beam routine, which tied her for fourth place. 

In the under-11 Xcel Gold level, Jacey Fauser and Leyla Hunter competed in an all-around of 26 athletes. Both scored high with their floor routines, placing fourth with a 9.275 and seventh with a 9.175 respectively. 

Three Swift Current gymnasts competed in level three: Clarissa Groenewald, Yujin Kim, and Paityn Reimer.  

Of 20 athletes, Groenewald placed fourth, Kim placed ninth, and Reimer placed tenth all around.
