Grab your clubs folks, this could be your shot at the big times.

The RBC PGA Scramble will be taking place across Canada on August 1. The tournament is an opportunity for amateur golfers to compete in the qualifiers and earn a spot in one of 12 regional finals across the nation.

In Swift Current, the event will be taking place at the Elmwood Golf Course, with the registry now open.

A spokesperson for the RBC PGA Scramble, Cole Crawford, invites everyone who wants to play to come on down, pending they are 19 years of age or older.

"If they're interested, competitors will have to register by July 25," said Crawford. "Prior to the event, all golfers will need a Golf Canada handicap and they'll be able to register their team at rbcpgascramble.com."

RBC Avion members will be able to get 50 per cent off registration for their team, and everyone who enters will be able to compete for prizes at the event.

Qualifiers begin with a shotgun start at 3:30 p.m. All teams will start and finish at the same time and should know where they are in the standings by the end of the day.

The winners of the event will be able to play in the regional finals at the Legends Golf Course in Warman, Saskatchewan, just north of Saskatoon, on August 22.

There is also room for all female teams at these events, and women are encouraged to come out and enjoy the day of golf alongside the men.

In 2021, over 10,000 golfers turned out at over 150 different venues for the event, and 2022 looks to be just as popular if not more so, thanks to lifted restrictions.
