The Saskatchewan Roughriders improved to 4-0 on the young CFL season with a 30-23 win over the Toronto Argonauts at Mosaic Stadium on Thursday night.

It's the first time the Green and White have started a season 4-0 since the last time they won the Grey Cup in 2013.

Quarterback Shea Patterson, starting in place of the injured Trevor Harris, threw for 192 yards and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Samuel Emilus, and ran for another score as he picked up a win in his first CFL start. Marcus Sayles sealed the victory with a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter as the Riders defence forced five Argos turnovers, and Brett Lauther made three of his four field goal attempts.

The Riders visit the BC Lions in Vancouver next Saturday. Their next home game is against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on July 19.
