A fundraising run, drag racing, and a bull riding event for a good cause all highlight another busy weekend in the southwest!
Southwest Run for Shelter for Dorie’s House
The annual fundraising run for the Dorie’s House Treatment Centre is back as an in-person event with participants of all ages running, walking and rolling on routes from two to 16 kilometres, and the two-kilometre run is an optional “Wacky Hat Fun Run”!
When: Saturday, June 11.
Times: Check-in starts at 7:45am, 16 and 10 km runs start at 8:30am, 5 and 2 km runs start at 10:30am.
Where: Kinetic Exhibition Park

Ride for Dad
Swift Current’s Motorcycle Ride for Dad fundraiser returns on Saturday in support of the fight against prostate cancer. The ride starts with a parade through Swift Current and then heads out to various locations throughout the southwest.
When: Saturday, June 11 with breakfast starting at 7:00am, registration at 8:00am, and then the ride begins at 10:00am.

Caitlyn’s Crusaders Bull Riding
The second annual Caitlyn’s Crusaders bull riding event happens at Lancer on Friday night, bringing in some of the best bull riders in Canada to support those living with Multiple Sclerosis.
When: Friday, June 10 at 7:00pm
Where: Lancer rodeo grounds, 10 minutes south of Lancer on Range Road 3215.
Cost: Free with a donation to the MS Society.
Two home games for the Swift Current 57’s
The Swift Current 57’s entertain two of their Highway 1 rivals this weekend when they host Regina on Friday and Medicine Hat on Saturday.
When: Friday and Saturday at 7:05pm.
Where: Mitchell Field
Cost: $12 for adults, $5 for students age 12-18, $3.00 for children under 12
Drag Racing Opening Weekend
The Swift Current Drag Racing Association opens a new season of racing on the tarmac at Swift Current Airport.
When: Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 8:00am and racing starts at 10:00am.
Where: Swift Current Airport
Cost: $10 per day, kids 12 and under are free
