UPDATE - 3:36 P.M.:

RCMP have determined that the explosives are fireworks. 

The public is being advised that they will not explode if not lit. RCMP states that they are not a threat unless they are ignited. 

So far, two more mailboxes have been discovered to contain these fireworks.

ORIGINAL STORY - 11:47 A.M.:

Saskatoon RCMP is investigating bombs found in mailboxes. 

Yesterday, Saskatoon RCMP received word that several mailboxes near Sunset Estates had been broken into.

The report also specified that suspicious objects had been left in the parcel receptacles. The investigation confirmed that one of the mailboxes in the RM of Blucher had been damaged by an explosive device. 

Earlier today just before 10 a.m., Saskatoon RCMP got another report of an explosive device in a mailbox on rural road 3040 in the RM of Corman Park. 

Investigation revealed another seven mailboxes had explosive devices—six of those detonated, damaging the mailboxes. 

No injuries have been reported as a result of these incidents. Saskatchewan RCMP's Explosive Disposal Unit is involved in the ongoing investigation.
