Kyle Crnkovic and Jared Davidson had a goal and two assists each as the Seattle Thunderbirds beat the host Kamloops Blazers 6-1 to wrap up round-robin at the Memorial Cup. 

Seattle has moved on to Friday’s semi-final where they’ll face the winner of tonight’s tie-breaking game between the Blazers and the OHL's Peterborough Petes. The QMJHL's Quebec Remparts await the semi-final winner in Sunday’s final.

Canadian Toro gets two-run shot as Brewers beat Jays

Abraham Toro hit a two-run home run as the Milwaukee Brewers doubled up the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 Wednesday night. Toro, from Longueuil, Quebec, has hit three home runs in seven career games at Rogers Centre. 

Alek Manoah allowed two runs and three hits as he lost his sixth-straight decision. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays in the rubber match of the three-game series today. 

In other WCBL action on Wednesday night, Medicine Hat edged Weyburn 6-4 and Okotoks beat Fort McMurray 5-4 in 11 innings. Regina hosts the Mavericks, Brooks welcomes the Dawgs and Lethbridge entertains the Giants tonight while the 57's head to Moose Jaw to take on the Miller Express.

In minor ball, the U18 AAA 57's will host the Regina Athletics tonight at 7:00pm from Mitchell Field, and in Sask-Alta league action, the Cabri River Rats host the Climax Cardinals while the Gull Lake Greyhounds welcome the Hazlet Elks.

Leafs hire Treliving to replace Dubas

The Toronto Maple Leafs are set to formally introduce Brad Treliving as their new general manager this morning.

Treliving spent the last nine seasons as the GM of the Calgary Flames before he left the team in April. The Flames made the playoffs five times under his leadership. 

Treliving will replace Kyle Dubas, who was fired by the Leafs after they were eliminated in the second round by the eventual Stanley Cup finalist Florida Panthers. Incidentally, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced this morning they've hired Dubas as their new president of hockey operations, replacing Brian Burke.

CFL pre-season continues

The last week of the CFL pre-season kicks off tonight with the Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts hosting the Ottawa Redblacks, while out west, the BC Lions will welcome the Calgary Stampeders.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders wrap up pre-season play on Friday night in Winnipeg against the Blue Bombers. The Riders open the regular season in Edmonton on June 11.

NBA Finals tip-off tonight

The Denver Nuggets host the Miami Heat in game one of the NBA Finals tonight.

The Nuggets, led by two-time league MVP Nikola Jokic and Canadian star Jamal Murray, are making their first appearance in the championship series while the three-time champion Heat are the first eighth-seed to advance to the finals since the New York Knicks in 1999.
