In the September 24 COVID-19 update The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of five new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those five new cases, two are in the Saskatoon zone, one is in the Central West zone, one is in the Regina zone, and one is in the South Central zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,835, of which 130 are considered active.

There are 4 active cases in the South West zone.

There are eight more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,681.

There are eight people in the hospital. Of those eight, seven are receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon, and one is receiving inpatient care in the South Central zone.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 reported.

To date, there has been 179,490 COVID-19 tests performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,578 COVID-19 tests performed.

Each Thursday, The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting COVID-19 activity in schools in the province. This will usually reflect the background level of COVID-19 in communities, so it is important to pay close attention to local COVID-19 activity.

These weekly reports on testing numbers and cases are for children 0-19 years of age.

In the update issued September 24, for the week of September 14-20 there were a province wide total of 24 active COVID-19 cases in children and youth in the province.

Of those 24 cases, there is one in the Central West zone, and 2 in the Central East zone,13 are in the Saskatoon zone, 5 in the Regina zone,1 in the South West zone, and 2 in the South East zone.
