UPDATED-Severe thunderstorm watch issued for the southwest

UPDATE

Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. 

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

This cluster of severe thunderstorm is currently located from Swift Current to Pambrun and is tracking slowly to the northeast.

Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the southwest.

An unstable air mass in southern Saskatchewan is triggering scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, some that may be severe.

Conditions are favorable for the development of these severe thunderstorms, which may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.

These thunderstorms will continue into this evening with the severity of the storms diminishing by late evening.
