Fluker and Caswell finish 4th with Team Canada Black at World U-17s

Two members of the Swift Current Broncos were part of the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in BC last week. 

Clarke Caswell and Josh Fluker suited up for Team Canada Black, who finished fourth in the tournament after a 7-1 loss to Finland in the bronze medal game. Broncos head coach Devan Praught was behind the bench for Team Canada White, who finished sixth in the round robin. 

The USA won the gold medal, beating Team Canada Red 11-3 in the final on Saturday. 

The Broncos return to action tomorrow night when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings. 

Busy weekend for rep teams

The Source for Sports U18 AA Broncos split their weekend games, falling 5-0 to the Regina Vics and then rebounding with a 6-2 win on Sunday. 

The Pure Chem U15 Broncos fell to the Regina Aces 4-2 on Thursday, beat the West Central Wheat Kings 6-2 on Saturday and routed the Warman Wildcats 14-3 at home on Sunday. 

The SWT U13 Broncos skated to 1-1 ties against Weyburn and the Regina Buffaloes on the weekend. 

The WW Smith U13 Wildcats beat Saskatoon 5-0 and Estevan 7-3. 

Grey Cup matchup set

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are headed to their third straight Grey Cup game after beating the B-C Lions 28-20 in the CFL West Final yesterday. The two-time defending champions will face the Toronto Argonauts, who beat Montreal 34-27 in the East Final. 

The 109th Grey Cup is on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

HHOF inducts class of 2022 tonight

Six more names will be enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame tonight in Toronto.

This year's induction class includes Ottawa Senators all-time leading scorer Daniel Alfredsson, Vancouver Canucks stars Roberto Luongo and Daniel & Henrik Sedin, Finnish women's player Riika Sallinen, and the late Herb Carnegie will be inducted in the builder's category.

There are four games in the NHL tonight including Ottawa hosting the New York Islanders and the Calgary Flames welcoming the red-hot LA Kings, who have won their last four in a row.
