Canadian Mixed Curling

The 2022 Canadian Mixed Curling Championships got underway yesterday in Prince Albert. 

Saskatchewan is being represented by the Swift Current rink of Shaun Meachmen, Kelly Schafer, Chris Haichert, Teejay Haichert. 

They opened with a comfortable 5-2 win over Alberta. 

Next up they'll play Quebec today at 2 p.m. then Yukon at 6 p.m.
 

U15 AA Broncos

A power-play goal for the Saskatoon Bandits midway through the third period helped them upend the Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos.

Swift Current fell 4-3 at home on Saturday.

Chase Petersen and Porter Nickason each had two assists in the loss.

Their Sunday game against Estevan was postponed.

U13 AA Broncos

The Swift Current SWT Broncos won their lone game that weather would permit on the weekend.

They nudged by the Regina Buffalos 6-5 on Saturday.

Taye Silbernagel and Jace Wills both had three-point games in the win.

Sunday's game against the Regina blues was cancelled.

U18 AA Wildcats

The league-leading Swift Current U18 AA Wildcats extended their unbeaten streak to eight to begin the season on Saturday downing the Northwest Sharks 3-0.

Ava Geissler scored twice and Mya Ruschkowski posted a shutout in net.

U15 AA Wildcats 

The Swift Current U15 AA Wildcats picked up three of a possible four points on the weekend.

Swift Current routed the Northeast Aces 15-0 on Saturday with Laynee Rondeau netting five goals in the win.

Sunday they notched a 2-2 tie against the Warman Wildcats.
