The new Cypress Regional Hospital is nearing completion.

Yesterday, the Minister of Health, Len Taylor, along with members of Swift Current City Council, got a personal tour of the construction site, now just six months away from completion.

Mayor Sandy Larson says the new facility will improve the quality of life for southwest residents and attract professionals to work here.

Planners are dipping into the project’s contingency fund by just over $600,000 adding new features to the building such as a room devoted to the new Telehealth Program and a body viewing room beside the Morgue.

The completion date is now just before Christmas – a month later than expected. Staff will start the move early in the New Year.
