Ryder Bradford had the lone goal for the Southwest Sports Excellence U18 Broncos in a 2-1 loss to the Prairie Storm on Saturday. 

Meanwhile, Damon James had four goals and Kyan Vansandt added two of his own as the SWT U13 Broncos beat the Prairie Storm 6-2, also on Saturday. 

The Full Line Ag U18 Wildcats swept a weekend road swing with a 7-3 win over the Northeast Aces on Saturday and a 4-3 win over the Warman Wildcats on Sunday, and the Graphic Edge U15 Wildcats beat the Southeast Gold Wings 5-1 on Saturday and skated to a 2-2 tie on Sunday.

Oilers get much-needed win in the great outdoors

The Edmonton Oilers got a big boost with the return of captain Connor McDavid from injury and scored three goals in the first period en route to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames in the NHL's Heritage Classic outdoor game at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday.

Evander Kane had a goal and two assists and Leon Draisaitl added a couple of helpers. Brett Kulak, Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard and Vincent Desharnais also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Nine games are on the NHL schedule tonight with Montreal visiting Vegas and Winnipeg hosting the Rangers.

World Series resumes tonight

The Fall Classic shifts to the desert as the Arizona Diamondbacks host the Texas Rangers in game three of the World Series tonight in Phoenix.

A walk-off solo home run in the 11th inning by Adolis Garcia lifted the Rangers to a 6-5 victory in game one on Friday before the D-Backs rebounded with a 9-1 rout to even the series on Saturday.

Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer is scheduled to start for the Rangers against Arizona rookie Brandon Pfaadt.
