Swift Current's Tombstone Whiskey will showcase some of its new tunes tonight, that are expected to appear on their upcoming album.

The local band hasn't begun recording the album yet but wants to give its fans a sneak peek at their work.

Tombstone Whiskey frontman Darrin Schwartz said the music will display the band's evolution beyond rock music.

"We want to be one of those artists that breaks genres," he said. "We don't just want to be pigeonholed into just being a rock band. We have a couple of songs on there that will fit country radio. We're hoping that we can get fans all over every demographic and every genre lover.

"We love making music for people who love listening to music, so let's continue on that path."

The quartet of musicians will take to Facebook Live on Tombstone Whiskey's page around 7 p.m. tonight to share the music.

They also continue to lead their group in voting to become the next winner of American Top Hitmakers.

"We've been at this for 11 years now, I think we're due to have some good luck and good things come for us," he said. "We appreciate everything the communities have done for us."
