The Swift Current Coast Hotel has left the SPCA with some happy cats and dogs with today's donation.

In honour of it being National Pet Month, all the pet fees from May were collected and matched by Coast Hotel up to $1,000. Today, they were able to present a cheque for $2,185 to the SPCA.

General Manager for the Swift Current Coast Hotel, Martin Lautsch, was the one to hand over the cheque today on behalf of not only himself but all his staff.

"Pets are a big part of our family," said Lautsch. "Coast believes in that policy."

In total, over 70 pets stayed at Coast Hotel throughout May, each contributing $15 through the pet fee to this donation.

Amy Dixon, operations manager for the Swift Current SPCA, confirmed that this money will be going directly into the operations budget.

"It's really nice to be able to work with Coast Hotels," said Dixon. "The fact that they do take the animals in (is great because) a lot of people travelling do need that option. We're really just happy to be receiving this donation today on behalf of the pets as well."

If anyone would like to donate to the SPCA, they have a full list of goods they are in need of on the SPCA website. Cash donations are also always welcome.
