Weekend calls for service - December 23 - 26

December 23

8:47 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female. She was located and spoken to by police.

December 24

12:50 AM - Report of three females consuming drugs at a residence and then leaving in a blue Jeep. Officers made patrols, finding the vehicle parked with no occupants inside. 

1:52 AM - 911 call of a male wanted by police being at a residence in Swift Current. Officers attended and were not able to confirm anyone was in the home. 

7:40 AM - Report of a male and female in the caller's business, using drugs in the washroom. Officers attended and spoke to the pair and were not able to locate any drug paraphernalia. They left with their sober driver. 

9:44 AM - Report of the caller checking on a friend's residence while they are out of the country, and it appears someone had been in the home. Police attended the residence ensuring no one was inside and were able to confirm later that the landlord had entered the home to do some repairs. 

10:29 AM - Report of a theft of property from the caller's unlocked garage on the 100 block of Weaver Crescent sometime overnight. There are no suspects or witnesses. 

11:00 AM - 911 call of a break and enter to the caller's residence on the 1700 block of Chaplin Street E. This matter is still under investigation. 

1:40 PM - Report of a hit and run to the caller's grey Saturn Vue while parked on the 100 block of 5th Avenue NE sometime overnight. There are no suspects or witnesses. 

1:47 PM - Report of a theft of property from the caller's unlocked vehicle while parked on the 800 block of 5th Avenue NE sometime over the last two days. This matter is still under investigation. 

2:19 PM - Report of a theft from the caller's truck sometime overnight while parked on the 300 block of Cowie Crescent. There are no suspects or witnesses. 

3:06 PM - A found backpack was turned in at the detachment. Staff were able to contact the owner to pick it up. 

7:53 PM - Report of people being "mean" to the caller over social media. Officers spoke with the caller and advised her to block them and if the problem continues to report it to police again.

9:35 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 600 block of North Railway Street W. Officers along with a keyholder for the business attended and determined the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure. 

10:23 PM - Request to assist EMS with a patient. Officers attended the residence, and the woman was transported by EMS to the hospital for further evaluation. 

11:40 PM - 911 call of a possible break and enter at a business on the 300 block of Central Avenue N. The caller advised she'd received notification of an alarm going off at the business and when she attended, she witnessed two young people running away. Officers ensured the building was secure and nothing was taken. They also made patrols but did not locate anyone in the area matching the description provided by the caller.

December 25

5:21 AM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 2100 block of Knight Crescent. Officers attended and determined the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure. 

11:17 AM - Report of a possible fraud. Officers spoke with the caller and determined the matter was civil. 

2:10 PM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 800 block of North Railway Street E. Police attended the business and determined the alarm to be false after ensuring the business was secure and speaking with an employee. 

5:56 PM - Report of a female known to the caller going through her vehicle on the 100 block of 4th Avenue NE. This matter is still under investigation. 

6:18 PM - 911 call from a male reporting a water main break. Officers advised the caller to get in touch with the City's after-hours line to report the break. 

11:30 PM - Report of an explosion in a dwelling unit on the 100 block of 4th Avenue NE. It was believed a furnace in the residence exploded due to a gas leak. All residents were able to be evacuated safely and luckily no injuries occurred. This matter is being investigated by the Swift Current Fire Department. 

December 26

2:59 AM - 911 call from a male saying that a business on the 1700 block of North Service Road E was open but no staff were there. Officers spoke with the caller who sounded intoxicated and then made derogatory comments about the staff. Officers attended the business and confirmed everything was okay, there was an employee inside. Officers made additional patrols of the area but did not locate anyone or anything suspicious. 

9:13 AM - Report of the caller's fence being damaged sometime overnight. Police attended the residence and when they arrived on scene a neighbour was there speaking with the caller, admitting they had hit the fence with their snowmobile. The neighbour advised he would pay to have the fence repaired. 

11:23 AM - Report of a male being locked out of his room at a commercial dwelling unit on the 600 block of North Service Road E. Officers attended the location, and a staff member was able to confirm the male had been let back into his room. 

11:26 AM - Report of a trailer being stolen from a location on the 2100 block of Walker Street sometime overnight. Two days later the caller advised he had located his stolen trailer at a collision south of Swift Current on a grid road. This matter is still under investigation. 

12:08 PM - Report of a male breaching the conditions of his court ordered probation by attending the complainant's residence. This matter is still under investigation. 

4:07 PM - A found wallet was turned in to the detachment. Staff were able to contact the owner to come pick it up. 

5:07 PM - Report of a social media scam. 

9:27 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female that the caller has not been able to get a hold of for three days. Officers attended the female's residence; she was home and well. 

10:48 PM - Report of a white Dodge Ram driving very slow on the #4 Highway. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.
