Weekend calls for service December 30-January 2

December 30

6:35 PM - Report of a washing machine catching fire at a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street E. Officers attended along with the Swift Current Fire Department who extinguished it. No one was injured and the fire has been deemed non-suspicious.

December 31

3:36 AM - 911 call from a male reporting there is a female at his residence who is planning on driving her vehicle after consuming alcohol. The female then came on the line telling call takers she had called for a taxi. Officers attended the residence, making sure the female left in her taxi. 

4:15 AM - While on patrol, officers located an intoxicated female on 1st Avenue NW. The female was arrested and held in police custody until she was sober. No charges were laid in relation to the incident. 

5:50 AM - Report of a sudden death. Officers attended a residence in Swift Current where an 89-year-old male was pronounced deceased. The death has been deemed non-suspicious. 

12:28 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller's son who is at his father's, however the caller believes the child is in the residence alone. Police attended and both the son and his father were home. 

12:43 PM - Report of a semi blocking traffic on 11th Avenue NW. Officers attended but the vehicle had left prior to police arrival. 

3:59 PM - 911 call of a two-vehicle collision on Central Avenue N. Officers attended the collision scene but both vehicles had departed prior to their arrival. Police were able to confirm that both parties had exchanged information and were directed to speak with their insurance provider. 

6:57 PM - 911 misdial call. Officers attended the caller's residence and confirmed no emergency was taking place, the 
caller had meant to dial 411. 

9:15 PM - Report of a suspicious male in the alley behind a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street E since this afternoon approaching people asking to use their phone. Officers attended the location and after speaking with the male were able to determine he had a warrant out of Regina, SK. The male was arrested and released with a future court date in Regina. 

January 1

12:51 AM - 911 hang up call of an intoxicated male at a dwelling unit on the 300 block of 1st Avenue NW who is yelling 
and banging his head. Officers attended and arrested the male who was held in custody until he was sober. No charges 

2:05 AM - 911 call of an intoxicated male being kicked out of an establishment on the 200 block of Central Avenue N and 
they were concerned he had returned. Officers attended the location; the male had not returned. 

5:46 AM - Report of loud music at a dwelling unit on the 1200 block of South Railway Street E. Officers attended and told the occupants to turn their music down. 

7:25 AM - Report of an intoxicated male laying on the sidewalk on the 500 block of Robert Street E. Officers attended along with EMS and the male was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. 

9:08 AM - Report of the caller's license plate being stolen off her vehicle sometime overnight while parked on the 400 block of 5th Avenue NW. There are no witnesses or suspects. 

11 :34 AM - Report of a sudden death. Officers attended a residence in Swift Current where a 75-year-old female was pronounced deceased. The death has been deemed non-suspicious. 

12:10 PM - Report of the back window on the caller's black GMC Terrain being smashed sometime overnight while parked on the 500 block of Robert Street E. There are no witnesses or suspects. 

5:17 PM - Report of a white Ford Mustang speeding through a red light at the intersection of Cheadle Street E and 2nd Avenue NE. The correct plate for the vehicle was not able to be obtained. 

7:09 PM - Report of three teenage boys that have been causing issues by throwing things at windows and bothering other tenants in common areas in a dwelling unit on the 300 block of 2nd Avenue SE. Officers attended the location and spoke to the boys about being mindful of other tenants in the building. 

9:42 PM - Report of an elderly male in medical distress at a residence on the 800 block of 5th Avenue NE. Officers attended the residence where EMS was already on scene. EMS then transported the male to the hospital for further evaluation. 

January 2

2:47 AM - While on patrol officers issued an inspection ticket to the driver of a grey Dodge Ram to have the headlights on the vehicle repaired. 

12:08 PM - Report of a child custody dispute. The caller was advised they would need to speak to their lawyer about the matter. 

12:24 PM - Report of loud yelling and screaming coming from a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street E. Officers attended and spoke to the female occupant, resulting in police arresting the female for causing a disturbance and transporting her to the hospital for further evaluation. 

3:50 PM - Report of a grey Dodge Ram in the ditch near a business on the 1400 block of Cheadle Street E. Officers attended the location and were able to determine the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Maple Creek, SK. The vehicle was towed from the location. 

7:44 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller's son. The caller had not heard from him in a number of days, and it was out of character. Officers were able to locate the male at a friend's house.
