In the February 3 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 837 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 837 cases there are 17 new cases reported in the South West zone - 6 in South West subzone 1, and 11 in South West subzone 2.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 120,745, of which 10,271 are considered active.

There are 275 active cases in t he South West zone - 77 in South West subzone 1, and 198 in South West subzone 2.

There are 4 new deaths reported, none of those are in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of deaths to 1,001.

There are 930 recoveries reported, 45 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 109,473.

There are 384 people in the hospital - 347 of those are receiving inpatient care, and 37 are in intensive care.

Of the 347 inpatients ,137 are a COVID-19 related illness, 189 are incidental COVID-19 infections, and 21  have not yet been determined.

Of the 36 patients in intensive care, 28 are for COVID-19 related illnesses, and 8 are for incidental COVID-19 infections. There is 1 resident in PICU/NICU for COVID-19 related illnesses.

There were 936 COVID-19 vaccinations administered yesterday, 31 of them in the South West zone.

Effective Monday February 7, all COVID-19 PCR testing will be by appointment made through HealthLine 811.

While the online appointment booking system will be discontinued February 7, walk-in and drive thru testing sites will be discontinued over the coming week.

Services provided through SHA testing and assessment centers will be redistributed to primary care sites through the month of February.
