In the January 20 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 1,158 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 1,158 new cases there are 10 in the Far North West zone, 18 in the Far North East zone, 54 in the North West zone, 42 in the North Central zone, 13 in the North East zone, 366 in the Saskatoon zone, 18 in the Central West zone, 66 in the Central East zone, 349 in the Regina zone, 35 in the South Central zone, and 64 in the South East zone.

There are 10 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 2 in South West subzone 1, and 8 in South West subzone 2.

There are 113 new cases with pending residence information.

Two cases with pending residence information were assigned as follows - 1 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

Fourteen Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North West zone, 8 to the Saskatoon zone, 3 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone. There is 1 with pending residence information.

One repeated case was removed to the Far North West zone.

Of the 1,158 new cases reported, 221 were unvaccinated or fewer than 21 days after their first dose, 57 had received their first dose or were less than 21 days from their second dose, 637 were fully vaccinated (more then 14 days since their second dose), and 243 were fully vaccinated and more then 14 days from receiving their booster dose.

Almost two-fifths (36.2%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 1,269 (105.3 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 105,072, of which 11,973 are considered active.

There are 330 active cases in the South West zone - 42 in South West subzone 1, and 288 in South West subzone 2.

The Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth aged 0-19 years has been released for the week of January 10-16.

There are 2,745 active cases in children and youth in Saskatchewan, with 282 having location/residence information unavailable.

Breaking that down, there are 37 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North Central zone, 32 in the Far North East zone, 76 in the North West zone, 116 in the North Central zone, 86 in the North East zone, 62 in the Central West zone, 185 in the Central East zone, 728 in the Saskatoon zone, 727 in the Regina zone, 82 in the South Central zone, and 247 in the South East zone.

There are 83 in the South West zone - 11 in South West subzone 1, and 72 in South West subzone 2.

There are no new deaths reported, leaving the provincial total number of deaths at 961.

There were 1,,092 recoveries, 32 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 92,138.

There are 215 people in the hospital - 192 receiving inpatient care, and 23 in intensive care.

Of the 215 patients, 74 (34.4%) were not fully vaccinated.

Of the 192 patients receiving inpatient care, 90 are a COVID-19 related illness, 88 are incidental COVID infections and 14 have not yet been determined.

Of the 23 people in intensive care, 15 are for COVID-19 related illnesses, 6 are for incidental COVID infections and 2 are undetermined.

Of the 19,601 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), 10,123 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 1,861 are Omicron (B.1.1.529).

To date, there have been 1,396,747 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 3,513 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

There have been 2,020 COVID-19 vaccinations administered, 81 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccinations given to 1,837,974.

And there are currently 881,437 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
