The September 23 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of six new cases in the province.

Of those six new cases, there are two in the Saskatoon zone, one in the Central West zone, and three in the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,830, of which 133 are considered active.

As the number of cases in communal living settings is now very low, it will no longer be reported separately unless the number of active cases in these settings rises above 20.

In the South West zone there are 4 active cases.

There have been 19 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,673 people that have recovered.

There are currently nine people in hospital. Eight people are receiving inpatient care -seven in Saskatoon, and one is the South Central zone. There is one person in intensive care in Saskatoon.

There are 24 deaths related to COVID-19 reported in the province.

To date, 176,912 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 1,507 COVID-19 tests done.
