In the October 6 COVID-19 update The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reporting a total of 16 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 16 new cases, there is 1 case in the Far North zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 6 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 2 in the Regina zone, and 2 in the South East zone. And one case has pending residence location.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 1,984, of which 139 are considered active.

There are 3 active cases of the virus in the South West zone.

There has been 20 more recoveries today, bringing that provincial total to 1,821.

There are 2 people in hospital. One person is receiving in patient care in Saskatoon. And one person is in intensive care in Regina.

There have been 24 deaths related to COVID-19 so far.

To date, there has been 203,733 COVID-19 tests done in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there was 1,597 COVID-19 tests done.
