For the first time in two years, the city of Swift Current will get to experience the flashing lights and lavish floats of the Canada Day Parade. 

Chris Martens, from the Swift Current Ag & Ex board, said that the excitement in the community for the return to normalcy is infectious. 

I mean everyone loves the parades,” he stated. “People, they just get excited for it, and they're all back to normal again.” 

Also returning to normal this year is the SaskTel Kiddies Day Parade which will help kick off Frontier Days this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. 

Two days later, the Canada Day Parade, celebrating the theme, ‘We’re Back! Celebrating Community,’ will take to the streets beginning at 10:00 a.m. 

The 2022 Parade Marshal, Robert ‘Bob’ Hope, will be leading the Frontier Days 2022 Parade. 

This year's SaskTel Kiddies Day Parade route is as follows: 

  • Starting point- Memorial Park 
  • Proceed on Herbert Street from Memorial Park to the Post Office 
  • South two blocks 
  • Turn east at Cheadle Street 
  • East one block 
  • Turn at Cinema Twin theatre 
  • North two blocks on 1st Ave NE back to Memorial Park 

The Frontier Days 2022 Parade route is as follows: 

  • Starting point – iPlex north parking lot 
  • West on Chaplin Street 
  • North on 9th Ave NE 
  • West on Herbert Street 
  • South on Central Ave N 
  • East on Cheadle Street 
  • South on 2nd Ave NE 
  • West on McIntosh Street 
  • Sout on Central Ave S 
  • Gibbs Street – parade end
