A recent Swift Current Comp. Colt football graduate is moving onto the next level with a Queen City-based team.

The Regina Thunder announced yesterday during the Canadian Junior Football League's (CJFL) signing day, that they inked Colts alumnus Zac Cloutier.

"I've really just grown to appreciate their style what they have as a focus and Thunder culture as a whole, working together to win," he said played a big factor regarding his commitment.

The linebacker has already been partaking in practices in the provincial capital every Thursday and is excited by what he's experienced to this point.

"It's really fast-paced, they have everything really organized," he said.

Cloutier has made a name for himself defensively throughout the province but his offensive game really blossomed this past year as a grade 12 for the Colts.

"They can put me where ever they need, I'll play but the focus as of right now is I'm playing linebacker," he said. "If they need me to go somewhere, I'll do it."

He scored over a half a dozen touchdowns playing as a short-yardage running back for Swift Current this past fall.

Regular practice for the Thunder kickstarts on July 21 in anticipation of the season's kickoff against the Edmonton Wildcats on August 14.

"Keep getting better, faster, and stronger," he said is this year's goal. "Maybe even one day after, go onto bigger leagues and bigger things."
