A Queen's Bench trial has been set for a Swift Current federal employee that was arrested and charged back in November of 2019.

Yantai Gan had his jury trial scheduled for May 1-26, 2023 last week by the Swift Current-based courthouse.

The now 66-year-old is facing a trio of charges including; breach of trust by a public officer, fraud over $5,000, and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Kelowna's Gan was working as a research scientist at the Swift Current Research and Development Centre when he was apprehended. 

According to an RCMP report on December 10, 2021,

they'd been investigating the B.C. man for 21 months.
