Ron Robison is making his way around the league’s hometowns, as he wants to say farewell to the teams he kept together through his term as the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) commissioner.
Swift Current is going to be visited by Commissioner Robison tomorrow, and the Broncos can't wait to welcome him. Originally from Indian Head, Robison has held his position for nearly 24 years, and has seen some very important changes in the WHL.
Kevin Simpson, executive vice president of business operations for the Swift Current Broncos, has a big part in welcoming the commissioner.
“We're going to be hosting him at our game tomorrow night versus Saskatoon, but we've got a few events planned in the afternoon first,” Simpson explained. “We're looking forward to having some time with Ron before the game, and then during the game itself, we'll be having Ron out pre-game to be our ceremonial puck dropper.”
The Broncos are hosting the Saskatoon Blades starting at 7 p.m. at the Innovation Plex.
“I'm looking forward to spending some time with Ron tomorrow and I know our board members are as well,” Simpson expressed. “I think it's going to be a great evening and the fans will have a chance to see Ron at the game. I know Ron’s looking forward to getting into Swift Current.”
