The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires fell 4-1 in Warman on Thursday night as the Wildcats forced a fifth and deciding game in their first-round SMAAAHL playoff series. 

Jeter Korte and Kazden Mathies scored for Warman in the first period and Liam Bursaw added another for the Wildcats in the second before Rylan Williams put Swift Current on the board early in the third period. Bursaw scored his second of the game into an empty net late in the third to wrap up the scoring. Berney Weston made 22 saves as the Legionnaires outshot Warman 30-25.

Game five of the series is on Saturday night at 6:30pm from InnovationPlex with the winner moving on to the league semi-final.

U18 AA Broncos grab 2OT win over Estevan

Brett Stusrud scored the winning goal in double overtime as the Source for Sports U18 AA Broncos beat Estevan 3-2 on the road to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five playoff series. Mason Osinski and Keegan Nash had the other goals for Swift Current.

Game four is Saturday at 4:00pm from InnovationPlex with game five, if needed, in Estevan on Sunday.

Minor hockey playoff action this weekend has the Innovation Credit Union U18 AAA Wildcats hosting the Weyburn Gold Wings in their playoff opener tonight at 8:00pm from S3 Arenas. The Wildcats won all five games against the Gold Wings this season. Game two will be in Weyburn on Sunday with game three, if necessary, in Swift Current on Tuesday.

The Pure Chem U15 Broncos visit the Prairie Storm in Balgonie looking to move on to the next round with a win. Game three, if needed, will be on Sunday at 6:00pm from S3 Arenas.

The SWT U13 Broncos are in Balgonie on Saturday night for a third and deciding game in their series with the Prairie Storm. The winner of the game will move on to the south division final against Weyburn.

The WW Smith U13 AA Wildcats head to Weyburn on Saturday for game two of their best-of-three series with the Gold Wings. The Wildcats lead 1-0 with game three, if needed, back in Swift Current on Sunday at 4:00pm from S3 Arenas.

The female U18 A Southwest Cyclones are in Milestone on Sunday for the third game of their series. The Cyclones forced the deciding game with a 3-2 overtime win in Gull Lake on Wednesday.

In provincial hockey, Swift Current's U15 A team hosts Weyburn for the second game of their best-of-three south final on Sunday at 6:15pm. Swift Current won the first game 9-3 and if a third game is needed, a mini-game will take place right after Sunday's game. Meanwhile, the Shaunavon U15 Badgers host Lanigan Saturday at 6:00pm from Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre looking to move on to the provincial D final with a win.
