After picking up their first regulation win of the season on Saturday, the Swift Current Innovation Federal Credit Union U18 AAA Wildcats completed a weekend sweep of the Prince Albert Mann-Northway Northern Bears with a 4-2 on Sunday at S3 Arenas.
The Wildcats opened with three consecutive goals over the opening 40 minutes from Kyla Benjamin, Kaylee Williams and Madden Rublee. Tristyn Endicott and Ella Clarke scored for the Bears in the third period to cut their deficit to 3-2, but Evangeline Hill scored the insurance goal for the Wildcats with 2:42 left in the game.
Jade Thompson added two assists for Swift Current and Paige Fischer made 29 saves as the Wildcats outshot the Bears 38-31.
The Wildcats (2-3-1-2) visit the Battlefords Sharks for a pair of games next weekend.
Impact fall 12-0 to Rebels
In junior female hockey, the Southwest Impact suffered a 12-0 loss to the Regina Rebels on Sunday in the Queen City. The Impact return home for games against Outlook in Swift Current next Friday and then host Lumsden and Regina in Gull Lake next Saturday and Sunday.
