A big move is in the forecast for AAA Wildcats goalie, Aurora Van Wormer, after committing to Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts.

The 18-year-old, from Swift Current has been playing with the Wildcats for four years, beginning with the AA team. She has played on the AAA team since 2020.

Van Wormer said that the opportunities presented to her at Anna Maria college helped her make her decision.

“They have some really good goalie coaching and they've offered me softball and hockey,” she explained. “So, not a lot of girls get to say they get to be a dual athlete and especially in the states. So, I was very excited about that.”

She added that pursuing her career in hockey was always something that she had in mind for the future.

“That's pretty much what I've always wanted to do,” she said. “It was never just play high school hockey. I always wanted to move on to that next level and better myself.”

Van Wormer played 15 of 31 games this season, with a save percentage of .928.
