A couple of community festivals and the return of a traditional summer event to Swift Current highlight a busy weekend in the southwest!
Boomtown Days is back!
Shaunavon is ready to celebrate the return of Boomtown Days with events happening all weekend in the community. Highlights include a parade, the Boomtown Cup lawnmower races and a community concert featuring the Johner Brothers.
When: Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 18

Cabri Daze returns
The town of Cabri is also celebrating with “Cabri Daze” happening this weekend featuring a senior baseball game on Friday night, a parade on Saturday and a cabaret featuring Men Without Shame on Saturday night at SWT Arena.

Shake the Lake at Lac Pelletier
Lac Pelletier Regional Park will be bringing back their summer party with Shake the Lake, an outdoor concert at the corral featuring Third Degree Birnz. You must be 19 years or older to attend.
When: Saturday, July 16, with doors opening at 9:00pm
Where: Lac Pelletier Regional Park (40km south of Swift Current on HWY 4 and 10km west on HWY 343)

SaskExpress at Sask Landing
SaskExpress brings their Olympic-themed touring show “Going for Gold” to Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.
When: Saturday, July 16 at 7:00pm
Where: Cottonwood Beach at Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park (50km north of Swift Current on HWY 4)
Cost: Free, although park entry fees apply.
Blacksmith’s hammer-in and classic cars and tractors at Doc’s Town
Doc’s Town Heritage Village will be hosting a classic car and antique tractor display as well as a blacksmith’s hammer-in on Sunday afternoon. The heritage buildings will be open and fresh pie will be served in the Country Pleasures Tea Room.

Watermelon Festival returns
One of Swift Current’s traditional summer events, the Watermelon Festival returns to the Mennonite Heritage Village on Sunday with watermelon, rollkuchen and rabuz being served. Those attending are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
When: Sunday, July 17 from 2:00-5:00pm

Swift Current 57’s home games
The Swift Current 57’s continue their homestand when they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Friday at 7:00pm, and then the Moose Jaw Miller Express for a doubleheader starting at 4:00pm on Saturday.
