Congratulations to Gordon McCall, who gets this weeks eagle applause for Schultz's Ranch Country Meats in Morse.
Gordon and his wife relocated to Swift Current last year so he could become the new artisitic director at the Lyric Theatre. Since his arrival Gordon has helped initiat the Sparks In The Dark live play series at the Lyric, he's also the director for the opening ceremonies of this summer's Western Canada Summer Games, and he's starting the Shakespeare In The Park series this summer at Riverside Park.
Gordon says: "As soon as I saw the possibility to apply and did a little research I just thought it was a tremendous idea. The structure of this grand old building is inspiring to me. I love old theatres and it started as a vaudeville house so it was very attractive and I saw the opportunity to participate in helping make the thing grow in the community. I'm all about being involved, I call it animating the community. I I can help in any way that's what I want to do. I'm very proud to be here."
Gordon would also like to acknowledge Aina and Maria from the Lyriic Theatre, all the volunteers, the sound and lighting techs, and the dedicated board for all their support and help. He says it wouldn't be possible without them and wants to say a huge thank you.
Thanks for your role in expanding the arts and culture scene in Swift Current Gordon, you've been a great addition to our city. He get's a gift card from Schultz's for being the recipient of this weeks eagle applause.
