It is with profound sorrow that we share the unexpected and sudden passing of our exuberant father, Dennis M. Ham of Calgary, Alberta (& Scottsdale, AZ).

Dennis's greatest joy was his family. He was a very devoted grandfather, actively and regularly playing with his grandkids Scott (Murrieta, California) and twins, Alexandra & Christian (Calgary, Alberta), whom he adored beyond measure. He was exceptionally close with his son, Darren & daughter-in-law, Alicia Ham (Murrieta, CA) and daughter, Tricia Ham (Calgary, AB). Dennis also valued his loving relationships with his sisters, Cheryl & Linda. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom & Onita, and older brother, Jerry.

Dennis worked along side of his brother in the family Chrysler dealership, Ham Motors in Swift Current, Saskatchewan from a young age, eventually managing the service department.  In early adulthood he found a passion for politics and was elected as the MLA for Swift Current from 1975-1982. Dennis's accomplishments during this time were of great pride. Following his political career, he moved to Calgary and embarked on what would turn into a very successful career in Insurance. He loved his work and treated his clients with great care and attention.  Even well into his 70's Dennis couldn't stop working for his clients.

He was a Shriner for many years, and proudly lead the Swift Current Shriners Band as the Drum Major.

He will always be remembered for his almost 6'3" stature and always having something to say - ALWAYS, and to anyone.  Dennis had a gift of gab!

Later in Dennis's life, his heart led him to worship at Centre Street Church in Calgary (& Scottsdale Bible in Arizona) where he volunteered as a greeter on Sundays when in Calgary. A celebration of life will be held at Centre Street Church (Central Campus, 3900 2nd Street NE) in Calgary on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome.
