A successful season came to an end over the weekend for the 15U Female SunDogs volleyball team.

The squad wrapped up their season at Volleyball Canada Nationals West in Regina.

Coming off of their provincial championship, the team started their Nationals West schedule with three straight losses.

The SunDogs suffered preliminary round losses to Manitoba’s Prairie Fire in two sets (18-25, 20-25), Alberta’s Nooks Blue in two sets (20-25, 16-25), and Alberta’s Canuck Blue, also in two sets (11-25, 22-25).

The Swift Current based team was able to turn things around on Sunday in their Power Pool.

They played to a 2-1 record with wins over Seaside Surf (25-23, 21-25, 15-13) and Regina’s QCVC Royal Fusion (25-23, 26-24), before dropping their final Power Pool game to the Weyburn Rush (16-25, 18-25).

Competing in the Tier 3 quarter-final on the morning of Victoria Day, the season came to an end for the 15U Female SunDogs.

Taking on the NAVC Griffins, the SunDogs fell in three sets (24-26, 25-23, 11-15).
