A Swift Current 57's pitcher is moving up to the professional level after dominating the Western Canada Baseball League.
57's closer Garrett Alexander signed with the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
Over his 19 regular-season appearances, Alexander had a 4-0 record with a 1.74 earned run average while striking out 44 batters of 31 innings of work.
The 6'6 right-hander also led the WMBL saves with 12.
Alexander will join the Railroaders who currently lead the South Division, and sit as the third-best team in the league.
